Went to see Cirque du Soleil - Worlds Away in 3D in the cinema today. I enjoyed the movie, and even though I usually prefer 2D, I think the 3D might do a difference in a movie like this.
While you're in the cinema, it feels like you could be anywhere in the world. The atmosphere and the smell of popcorn is global, and so you don't notice where you are until you exit the cinema and smell the real air of whatever place you're currently located.

The movie is definately kind of an advertisment as well, as the performances are mostly all taken from different Cirque du Soleil shows around the world. You might feel the hunger and might want to go see them live after you've watched the movie ;)
January has started off with not feeling too well, and I learned to use a facemask which is quite common to wear in Taiwan. Many Taiwanese wear it as protection against air-pollution, infections and to avoid others from getting infected by you if you don't feel too well. You can by the masks with many different designs, and I will definately wear mine again next time I get sick.
Last saturday I went to Fulong beach. We had beautiful weather, but unfortunately we were not allowed to swim..
The weather is changing very quickly, and so one day I went to class with winterclothes on, and the next day I only wear a singlet. I do prefer the days with singlet. The last week I've had several small trips in the nearby mountains. First with my dad and our little dog, but before we reached the mountain top, we returned due to heavy rain. Next I went with a friend, and we enjoyed nice weather and the beautiful view of Taipei city in one directions and green mountains in the other. Most of the people we meet in the mountains seem to be adults and seniors. We met some families with kids as well, but I believe they came up the mountain by car, and then walked the very last part of the trail. I still find the mountains and mountaintrails here very interesting and exotic.

Januray 19th my sister gave birth to Mathilde. She's a beautiful little girl, and I can't wait to see her in March :)
I became sick the new years-weekend, so I staid home new years eve. We could see Taipei 101 in the distance though, and we went to the roof to watch it with the other residents in our community. As I didn't feel well, I didn't study mutch either.
Wednesday we had mid-term exam, which tested both reading, writing, listening and speaking. The grammar-part was mostly to read some sentences and choose the correct one. We also needed to read an article and put in words that were given to us in pinyin. This is were I did most mistakes. In the end of the written test, we listened to some questions our teacher asked us, and we had to choose the correct answer on the paper.
Afterwards we went outside, and one by one the teacher called us back in. Now she asked me to read an article from a paper in the table. She then asked me some questions about our hometown; like name and the area were I lived. She wanted me to compare Norwegian food with Taiwaneese food, and also asked me some other, similar questions. I did ok on the grammar-part, and also speaking, listening and reading, but when it came to "read pinyin and write the charachters" I kind of failed.. ;) But, that's how I did without practising in advance, and I'm quite happy about it.
Went to a pizza-place with a Norwegian friend last week. We had delicious pizza in the Taipei 101 area.
I have to say I find the second book, Practical Audo-Visual Chinese 2, a lot more interesting than the first. Still challenging, but things like comparison-grammer are very useful! ;)
